How to Build the World’s Greatest Smoothie…No I Never Exaggerate

Smoothies. Green Juice. Veggies. Drink them and you just feel the health pouring into you. It’s instant. Am I right or am I right?

Haha, all jokes aside, smoothies are a great way to flood your body with nutrients from fruits and vegetables. With their natural sweetness you’ll feel like you’re having dessert when you’re actually having a nourishing and fulfilling meal.

As a meal or a snack, one good food decision can help you make another and another and so forth. I love to show people great recipes to help the cravings for nourishing foods show up more often than cravings for less nourishing foods. Fun fact – just like eating more sugar makes you eat more sugar, same goes from fruits and veggies. The more you eat, the more your body wants more and tells the brain to make you crave them!

Instead of giving you one cookie cutter smoothie recipe, I thought I’d brighten it up and giving you a template for freedom to use your favorite ingredients!

Here’s the structure:

Liquid (.5 -1 cup depending on how thick you want it)

Fruit (.5 – 1 cup)

Veggie (.5 – 1 cup)

Protein (about ½ cup)

Healthy Fat (1-2 tbsp)

With all of these elements you have a fully balanced meal, stabilizing your blood sugar and providing you with energy to get you through your day and keep those cravings at bay. Oh wow…that even rhymed. I’m a poet and I didn’t know it. Gosh how you guys get through these blogs without laughing is beyond me, I crack myself up.
