Motivation Monday: My Top 6 Self Development Book Picks

I’m always up for a little motivational post. So Motivation Mondays are going to become a thing around here. Be on the lookout every Monday for a post that is sure to get you right out of bed in the morning and ready to take on the day! Or at least roll out of bed with a little more umph than before…!! 

I’m not ashamed to say that I used to think I was “too good” for a self development book. In college I would be embarrassed to be seen with one with the fear that people would think I’m “broken” because I “need” a self development book.

Well, sis. That couldn’t be further from the truth.

The happiest people on this earth are continually diving deep into self-development, self-growth, learning more about themselves, what makes them happy, the way their emotions and patterns work and so on. It’s no wonder they’re the happiest people!! 

Reading an inspirational self-development book has become a mandatory part of my morning routine. I’ve experienced more positivity, more productivity, more confidence, more creativity, and a heck of a lot more grace for myself. 

Today for a little Monday Motivation I wanted to share with you my 6 current favorite self-development books. To me, in order to really love them they need to be relatable, have some humor (I simply cannot do those dry old school ones!), and give me actionable steps I can start to take today.   1. You Are A Badass

Hilarious. So inspiring. Get ready to transform. Need I say more? Jen Sincero is a leader in the life coaching, motivational speaker, and self-development author realm. If you haven’t read this one, well, hop to it sister!

  1. To Kale and Back: Ditch the Rules and Learn to Thrive in Food, Fitness, & Life 

Wow. Have you met the author? She’s pretty cool. Just kidding. The author is me. Here I am.

Okay, of course I had to include it! It’s funny. It’ll feel like I’m talking directly to you. You’ll relate on so many levels. Become the absolute best version of you today sister. 

Its food and fitness, but that’s only two chapters. It’s going to help you live your most abundant and authentic life. You’ll be the healthiest you mind, body, and soul. You’ll be fully embracing the person you were created to be after this read!

  1. The Universe Has Your Back 

A transforming fears to faith sort of a book. I’ll forever re-read this one! 

Gabby Bernstein is an expert in the spiritual growth realm. If you’re looking for a little nudge in strengthening your spirituality, start here!

  1. Own Your Every Day 

I’m not going to lie I read this book in two flights flying home for our wedding. Such an easy read, so relatable, high quality development book my friends! 

If fear of comparison or judgement has been holding you back, this one is for you.

  1. Unfu*k Yourself 

Hilarious. Harsh in the best way possible. Get ready to quit your excuses friend. That’s all I have to say about that one! I absolutely loved this book.

  1. The Happiness Project 

Ugh. Love. This book makes me want to create my own happiness project! Follow along Gretchen’s 12 month self discovery experiment to create more happiness in ordinary life.
